Winter News from CC Managua

We are rejoicing in what the Lord is doing in this new year and what He is about to do in the future.

We received a donation of outdoor carpeting for the stage in the sanctuary and the youth worked hard to get that installed in time for the Christmas services.

Jose Ramon Sanchez graduated from university after almost five years with his degree in accounting. Now his desire is to be a missionary within Nicaragua. Please pray that he will receive the needed support. He has been a faithful servant here for many years.

Jeremy Manus came down in December and has been a huge blessing, helping with many projects around the church and bakery. He and Doug Selby also installed a new main breaker box at the school in record time. PTL! Please pray for Jeremy to learn Spanish so that he can bless others in sharing the faith.

We are rejoicing with Gustavo and Helen in the birth of their son, Gustavo Enmanuel, on Sunday January 24th. He is so precious!

We are about to start a new school year and ask for prayer for the school registration. We pray that we can fill the class rooms and bless many families with the gospel and a quality education. Of course we are asking for prayer regarding more sponsors for the students. If you with to sponsor a student, please send an email to:

Right now we are in the middle of a lot of painting to freshen up the school. Please pray that we will be able to complete all of this work before school starts.

The Calvary Chapel in Granada hosted a two day conference for all of the Nicaraguan pastors and leaders. Several of our leaders went and were blessed by the teaching and fellowship.

Summer News from Calvary Managua 2015

In July, a team came down from CC Merritt Island to help us out with covering up graffiti on the church and repainting much of the school. It is good to have things looking new again. The team was joined by John Meneghini, his son Noah, and his daughter Michaela. John and his son, as always, helped us a bunch with network and computer issues.

Alysha Rosado came down on her own for a few weeks. She worked with the CCMI team and helped out around the church in many ways. She and Michaela Meneghini stayed for a while after the team left to help out in the school.

They also inspired us to take the youth group on a field trip! Cal and Jessie brought about 20 young people and chaperone’s to Volcano Cerro Negro, one of the youngest volcanoes (and one of the most active) in the western hemisphere. We hiked up the side in some unusually intense wind, many of us carrying sleds to slide down on. It was a wonderful time! Thanks, in part, to our youth leader Rene for helping with the costs.

n August Jeremy Foster and his daughter Emily spent a week helping out with the school and various projects around the church. It was a blessing to Cal to have Jeremy’s companionship for a week that otherwise might have been stressful due to car repairs and other such hassles.

A Carolina selfie.  She is a great principal/leader for our school.

Saturday night on Sept 26, we held a special prayer and worship service until midnight that was well attended. Cal, Gustavo, and Elvis all shared messages encouraging people to fast, pray, and love each other; and the youth led worship, with the help of Gustavo and Elvis. Jessie helped set up snacks and drinks, including lots of coffee!

As always our primary school has been active with a day to honor a famous battle in Nicaraguan history on September 14 and a special day to celebrate the 445thyear of the Bible being translated into Spanish on September 24th.

The youth always have fun on an outing.

Marylin enjoyed visiting with Michaela and Alysha.

Spring News 2015

We had a great start to the school year with 130 students enrolled and two very good new teachers. Anielka is teaching English and Computer Science. Clementina is teaching sixth grade and is a good addition to the team.

In March Pastor Ken Krikac came down with Firefighters for Christ to do some training with the Firefighters in Granada. Cal was able to help with some translation and it was encouraging to see some of the firefighters accept Jesus.

In April the Pelletier family came down to do pig heart dissections at Jessica’s school. We had a good time of fellowship and were in awe that the Lord provided just the right amount of hearts at the perfect time to minister the those youth about the wonder of creation.

Also in April the Medical team from CC Old Bridge was here to heal bodies and minister to souls. They were a huge blessing to many in the church and many who just came to receive medical attention. Everyone was prayed for and some received Jesus.

We received a specified donation to replace some of the old a/c units at the school so we now finally have six class rooms with a/c again so the students do not have to suffer the heat.
